As of the 11th of Mary 2022, I have completed the TryHackMe learning path called “Pre Security”, I found it to be very beginner friendly but for myself it was great to refresh my knowledge especially with the Network Fundamentals that it covers.

This learning path covers the following topics:

Network Fundamentals - IP Addresses, MAC Addresses, Subnetting, ICMP, ARP, DHCP, OSI Model, TCP/IP, TCP Vs. UDP, Ports, Firewalls and VPN.
How The Web Works - DNS, HTTP/S, URL, HTTP Methods, HTTP Statuses, Headers, Cookies, HTML, JavaScript, Load Balances and WAF.
Linux Fundamentals - Basic commands, SSH, File permissions, Common Directories, Terminal Text Editors, Processes, Package Management and System logs.
Windows Fundamentals - UAC, Compmgmt.msc, Event Viewer, msinfo32.exe, resmon.exe, Command Prompt, regedt32.exe, Windows Security, Firewall/Network Protection and Bitlocker.

The topics covered in this learning path were very beneficial, not only did I cover content that I’ve learnt before but it also helped fill gaps in my knowledge for topics that I have not covered as much in depth previously. I am really looking forward to continue using this platform as I progress in my journey to becoming a Cyber Security professional.

During the completion of this learning path I have dedicated as much time as possible to working on my technical and cybersecurity knowledge, this can be seen with me receiving the 7 day streak badge on the platform.
